AirAsia X Expands to Tehran with Direct Flights from Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok

KUALA LUMPUR – AirAsia X Bhd, along with Thai AirAsia X, has announced a new addition to its route network: direct flights to Tehran, the capital of Iran. This new service will be available from both Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.

According to AirAsia X's CEO Benyamin Ismail, the decision to introduce this route comes at a perfect time. With Iran’s economy growing and recent sanctions being lifted, Tehran has become an exciting destination for both business and tourism. Ismail highlighted that the direct flights between Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, and Tehran would foster better bilateral relations and provide an opportunity to boost trade and tourism between the regions.

In celebration of this new route, AirAsia X is offering promotional fares starting from RM299 one-way for economy seats and RM999 one-way for Premium Flatbeds on flights departing from Kuala Lumpur.

This strategic move highlights AirAsia X’s focus on expanding its network into emerging markets and increasing connectivity between ASEAN countries and the wider Middle East region.
